Popped Envy Gourmet Popcorn was started by Cathy Burnheimer, a Pittsburgh-area mother of three school-aged daughters who saw a need in her school district’s fundraising program for a more inclusive food product. With one in fifteen children struggling with food allergies and limited snack options, Cathy fills the void with Popped Envy’s delicious, allergy friendly popcorn. Sarris Candies began in the basement of Frank and Athena Sarris’ family home in Canonsburg, but quickly outgrew the space and moved into a small shop they built next door. Since then, they’ve expanded into an even bigger shop which fills an area the size of a full city block with over 100 yards of chocolate, penny candy, ice cream and life-like plush toys. Their chocolate covered pretzels are a Pittsburgh-area staple!
