About the Blue White Ball

The Blue White Ball was founded in 2008 by two Pittsburgh-area Penn State Alumnae who wanted to support THON's mission & purpose locally. It began in partnership with the Dance Marathon Alumni Interest Group (DMAIG), becoming an official Chapter Event around 2019. From its humble beginnings in a ballroom at the Sheraton Station Square the Ball has become Pittsburgh's premier THON Fundraiser, welcoming nearly 200 guests annually in classic Pittsburgh venues such as Heinz Field, J. Verno Studios, and the Children's Museum of Pittsburgh. The Ball features dinner and open bar, a program of special honored guest speakers to highlight the important work being done by THON and Four Diamonds, and of course plenty of time for dancing. Guests support our fundraising efforts by participating in our Wine Pull, raffles, and extensive silent auction, creating a spectacular evening of fun, fellowship, and philanthropy. The Ball has contributed nearly $200,000 to the fight for a cure for childhood cancer to date. After raising a record $30,000 For The Kids in 2023, we're looking forward to celebrating our landmark 15th Ball on March 9, 2024, thanks to the generous support of our sponsors, in-kind donors, guests, volunteers, and community!
